I'm sorry but I cannot comment on that since I didn't heard the actual conversation between you and the COMCAST representative. 
 
However, I can say that the representative did the right thing of referring your issue to someone like us since 
they can't directly assist you in configuring your PC/tablet/smartphone in such a way that it can successfully receive the internet signal
 being emitted by your modem. Of course you don't necessarily need to get this type of service from us. 
 
There are other technical support provider company that offers this type of support. 
What I don't want you missed out though is the very affordable cost of our service especially built for COMCAST customers like you.
 Like other Tech Support Company, our rates are normally pegged double than I what I quoted you earlier. 
Somehow COMCAST agreed to subsidized a big portion of it as their way of helping their customers who may need this service.
 I'm sure they didn't tell you this. Do they?
